The Matilda shorts in neutral gingham are so cute and so easy to match tops with. I'm usually a size 10 for bottoms but with a smaller waist and the XS is pretty much a perfect fit. I tried S as well but it's just a bit too loose and too much material which gave me a diaper crotch. The waistband is very stretchy but also firm, so you definitely feel held in. If you prefer looser waistbands and don't mind more material and space around your thighs though, you could defs size up!
